Pandit Janardan Mitta is a renowned sitarist, and also a disciple of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar. He is a Hindustani classical musician, known best for his delicate touch on the instrument, and his eloquent interpretation of each raga. Coming from a musical family, Pandit Mitta started his journey by teaching himself to play the sitar, before he met Ravi Shankar and began official tutelage under him. Ravi Shankar once described him as "my favourite student". Mitta has had a strong presence in the Chennai film industry for the past 40 years, and has also performed at the UN - a truly accomplished musician, and inspiring artist.
